Pheidole obscuirthorax originates from South America. They have a striking red colouration and are able to grow quickly.
Their care is quite simple and similar to many other Pheidole species, they can easily be raised in test tube setups and they eat both proteins and sugars. In terms of temperatures around 25 centigrade is good.
Suitable setups after the colony grows out of the test tube would be ytong nests or similar. Make sure to provide and outworld even at test tube stage so they can remove rubbish and forage.
